Autobiographical Notes
I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore,
I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father,
And having seen many afflictions in the course of my days,
nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord
in all my days,
Yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness
and the mysteries of God,
Therefore, I make a record of my proceedings in my days;
… And I know that the record which I make to be true,
And I make it with mine own hand,
And I make it according to my knowledge.
(I Nephi 1:1,2)
Following Nephi’s example, I am making a record of “my proceedings of my days” to testify of God’s goodness ministered to me through the gospel of Jesus Christ. In this record I am attempting, as did Nephi, to liken all scriptures unto myself for the profit and learning of my family in the hope that it may be of benefit to them, especially to my children and their children after them. Like Moroni, I have made this record according to my memory. In it I am including a brief collection of various events in my life that, among other things, have lead up to the writing and publication of the several works included on www.HisWorkmanship.net. In making this record I trust, as did Nephi, that it is for a wise purpose in the Lord.

- We’re Marching To Zion
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see; all they gather themselves together, they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee…And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee; for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.” (Isaiah 60:1-5,10)
